Still down
June 22nd, 2007
So, I still haven't figured out how to get around the problem with deleting certificates in both Firefox and Thunderbird. I received a note from tech. support at Dreamhost that confirms that I do need to nuke them (they changed SSL certificates which precipitated the whole mess), but, for whatever reason, I delete 'em and they come back. There are three db files called cert8.db, secmod.db and key3.db (mydocs\me\appData\mozilla\firefox\profiles\default.b3v) that can be deleted to get rid of some of the Web Sites certificates but not Authorities certificates (as tab labeled in TBird). Long night of futzing with things but the upshot is that I am still unable to send emails from my Rusty Axe account. And gettin' cranky.
Better go do some work on the house and see if Dreamhost gets back to me with any more ideas. Our roof metal arrived yesterday and the guys are supposed to be here Monday and Tuesday to tack it up. Can't wait to see how it looks.
Peace-out,
L.
