So, just a quick note tonight about the new Thunderbird email client, 2.0.0.4. If you have read my previous couple of posts you will know that I upgraded to try and fix my SSL certificates problem. Sadly, the new TBird has taken two big steps backward. One, you can no longer drag an email from the inbox to a sub-folder of another folder. You can move it but this is a couple of menu options worth of work or, as I later discovered, you can right click and move to the last sub-folder you moved to... but why remove the handy feature of simply being able to drag between folders. Maybe it confused too many people who did it by mistake but I miss this. More importantly, reading only unread emails no longer seems to work... and that's a biggie because a lot of the spam that sneaks through my filter has wonky dates so I like to just hit unread to quickly see everything and then bulk delete the spam with shift and ctrl maneuvers. TBird is still a good email client and it's free so how much can you gripe... but that never seems to stop me.
I think we finally have roofers and potentially a couple of dry days between here and the end of Tuesday so if tomorrow dawns sunny then I'm up on the roof with a guy or two and ripping shingles. All goes well and we are heading East by the end of next week. Wahoo, I love going to the lake and hanging out with my wifes folks (parents, siblings cousins all come and go up at the compound) , swimming in Sacandaga Lake all the while taking advantage of a fast DSL connection so I can work there all summer. The kids have a great time getting spoiled by the grandparents and playing with all of the cousins. Smug? Maybe, but I think the secret to being happy is knowing when things are good and appreciating them.
